| Biography: |
Prof Chris Atton is the UK authority and a leading international scholar in the study of alternative and community media. He has published three books in this area: Alternative Literature (Gower, 1996), Alternative Media (Sage, 2002) and An Alternative Internet (Edinburgh University Press, 2004).
He has also written on censorship, media ethics and popular music. He has been a music critic for 20 years, writing for a wide range of publications in Europe and the US, specialising in contemporary classical music, electronic and improvised musics.
